Canada Day Pride in Cabbagetown

Summer in the City Continues with even more happening in Cabbagetown this week.

The Pride Weekend Street Festival begins Friday evening, June 28th, 2013.
Let’s all be proud that our Pride Week Festival is officially designated as a City of Toronto “Signature Event”, as well as one of Canada’s largest cultural festivals and one of the world’s largest Pride events.
East-west streets severed by the Church St. closure will be designated “two-way” for the duration of the closure. Access will be available from Yonge St. or Jarvis St. While vehicular access will be limited, your driveway and garage entrances will not be blocked. Toronto Police Officers or Pride Toronto Safety Ambassadors will be stationed at all necessary intersections to ensure that residents have access to and from their homes. Should your garage exit onto Church St, Wellesley St E or Alexander St. there will be limited opportunities to exit or enter. Please view the list of road closures stated below.

Pride Toronto is working with the City of Toronto to ensure continued safety of the neighbourhood during our celebrations.
Questions or Concerns? Please contact us at 416-927-7433
Please Note: There will be no parking during street closures and during these additional times:
Wood St. between Church St. & Mutual St, Maitland St between Church St and Yonge St (beginning Friday, June 28th at 12:01am), Charles Street between Yonge St & 100ft West of Church (beginning 6:00pm Friday, June 28th) and Isabella St. (beginning 6:00pm Friday, June 28th).

Canada Day is Monday, July 1st

Most communities across the country will host organized celebrations for Canada Day, usually outdoor public events, such as parades, carnivals, festivals, barbecues, air and maritime shows, fireworks, and free musical concerts, as well as citizenship ceremonies for new citizens. There is no standard mode of celebration for Canada Day; there doesn't seem to be a central recipe for how to celebrate it—chalk it up to the nature of the federation.

Glen Murray's Constituency Office, 514 Parliament St.
As we approach the upcoming long-weekend, I would like to take this opportunity to invite you and your networks to come celebrate Canada Day with MP Bob Rae and MPP Glen Murray in the St. Lawrence neighbourhood of Toronto Centre.

www.torontocentreplan.org

This event will be a wonderful opportunity to share some fun and food as a community while celebrating everything that makes up Canada.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our office for more information.

Thank you,

Matthew Edwards
