join me this Saturday for my annual Envrionment Day. Do your part to create a
cleaner, greener and more liveable Toronto. Bring used or unwanted household
items, drop off recycling, hazardous waste, and items to donate, and pick up
free compost.
I
will also be providing free compost at the Forsythia Festival on Sunday May 5
at Wellesley Park.

year … another box of unwanted treasures that someone else is bound to adore.
Start
now, gathering all your unwanted
treasures, and join us on May 25th 2013 for our Annual COMMUNITY YARD SALE!!!
This is a MULTI Family event with thousands of
items and everyone is welcome to participate.
This event runs at the same time as the Canadian
Breast Cancer "Yard Sale for the Cure".
Advertising will be posted on Craigs list and
Kijji.
Place: Cabbagetown South area, bordered by
Sherbourne to Parliament, Carlton to Shuter. See map below.
Cost: FREE. There is no charge,
but please REGISTER on the site so we know how many there will be.

The 403 Toronto is your local Scouts Canada group and we currently have 40 youth (boys and girls) and 11 leaders registered. We run programs for youth ranging in age from 5 to 14 in three sections of Beaver Scouts, and Sea Scouts on Wednesday nights and Cub Scouts on Thursday nights at St. Peter's Anglican 188 Carlton.
The 403 Toronto is your local Scouts Canada group and we currently have 40 youth (boys and girls) and 11 leaders registered. We run programs for youth ranging in age from 5 to 14 in three sections of Beaver Scouts, and Sea Scouts on Wednesday nights and Cub Scouts on Thursday nights at St. Peter's Anglican 188 Carlton.
We expect to
expand to a Venturer Company (age 14+) next fall. Scouting is a program with a
strong outdoor focus that encourages youth leadership and independence. The
youth come mostly from the local neighbourhoods with a diversity of cultural
and economic backgrounds. We are an open group and have families led by
same-sex parents, single parents, two parents, Jewish parents, Christian
parents, Hindu parents, and others reflecting the broad spectrum of our
community.
We offer financial assistance to families who require it and welcome
donations that enable us to provide an open program.

| 403 Toronto Scouts |
We are embracing spring
with participation in hikes in the neighbourhood, camps in Aurora and
Orangeville, and a visit to Evergreen Brickworks. Each group will be finding
ways to contribute to the community by running activities at the Forsythia
Festival and Winchester Fun Fair and cleaning up litter over the next few
weeks. Our program is varied and exciting but is only possible with volunteer
leadership, financial donations and inexpensive space provided by St.Peter's
church.
Double Take Store is Getting a Mural, 310 Gerrard St. East
The Double Take
Store, part of The Yonge Street Mission, is requesting submissions
for a mural on our east exterior brick wall of 310 Gerrard Street East. The project is open to individual artists as well as art groups.
The intention of this project is to creatively express the ideals of hope and
joy to the public and to promote artistic expression in the community. Local
artists and art groups are encouraged to apply.
Overview:
Artists or groups are encouraged to create a colourful design based on The Yonge Street Mission’s motto “Hope in the City”. Interested individuals or groups must pick up a Call For Submission Package in person on or before May 17, 2013, 6:00pm. Packages will not be available online.

The Winning Design:
