Cabbagetown Chiropractic Health Centre (CCHC) has been serving the Cabbagetown community since 1985, at which time it was located on Gerrard Street East.
The office moved to 214 Carlton St. 10 years later (It was owned by another Chiropractor at the time).
Dr. Mekis, D.C. began practicing at CCHC in 1998 and purchased the practice in 2000.
After 20 years at this location they decided to completely renovate the space and are very pleased with their new modern update. The transformation is astounding.
They offer Chiropractic, Registered Massage Therapy, and Registered Holistic Nutritional Services. Their small office mainly services the Cabbagetown area but many of their loyal patients who have moved over the years come from all over the city and abroad.
Dr. Mekis specializes in sports injury and acute care, uitilizing pain and healing modalities such as ultrasound, inferential and tens, laser, acupuncture, and of course, spinal manipulative therapy; following years of experience as both an athlete and athletic therapist.
Dr. Mekis also fabricates and dispenses custom-made othotics and shoes.
She has lived in Cabbagetown for the past 25 years and can't imagine living anywhere else. She appreciates the diversity and tight knit community. Her patients appreciate the small town feel of her office in the heart of this big city.
In the following weeks we will be featuring Dr. Mekis' staff (Sandy Badgley, BA, RHN - Nutritionist, Etai Tintpulver and Heather Atkinson - both Registered Massage Therapists) with individual profiles highlighting their specialties.
The Cabbagetown Chiropractic Health Centre is open Monday - Saturday by appointment only.
This weekend we're celebrating dads all around and we want to make sure your special guy has a great time with the special features some of our businesses are promoting this week.

LUMINATO in Cabbagetown
///Re-ply\\\ @ KENDALL & Co: a collection of artwork produced by children participating in an integrated project with Toronto artist Dan Bergeron and Luminato’s Education and Outreach department.
Through workshops in five partner public schools in Regent Park and Cabbagetown, artist Dan Bergeron invited students in grades four and five to re-think the meaning of the word ‘Re-ply’ in artistic terms -- explaining how art is a response to something - a ‘reply’ to an idea, issue or emotion. Luminato has also sets up more ///Re-ply\\\ art installations at various spots in Cabbagetown. Click the link for map and audio descriptions on the various pieces.
