Hello Cabbagetown!
We had such an amazing time at the 42nd Annual Forsythia
Festival that we wanted to share some pictures with you.
Cabbagetown residents were out in the glorious sunshine on Sunday celebrating once
again, the arrival of Spring.
The birds were chirping, the children were playing, and the adults were drinking!
The Cabbagetown Residents Association (CRA) worked tirelessly to make
this event a continued success and are happy to report: they Sold-Out their
raffle tickets, and had a very successful first ever Beer Garden.
We want to thank all our local businesses for their generous donations
and time.
Presented below, the donor board for this year:
Trish,
of the CRA wanted to share an important outcome of the residents’ efforts to make
Wellesley Park playground a place for everyone to enjoy.
Havana, 10 years old |
Havana,
our Festival Queen's daughter is 10 years old and up until now has not been
able to enjoy Wellesley Park along with the other kids because there were no
accessible features. In working with Yvonne on the flowers and other festival
details, she made a special request that Trish work with Toronto Parks to get a
swing installed. She only told Trish about her request shortly before the Festival,
and she is happy to report that the swing was installed Monday.
This
is a first step in making the Wellesley Park playground a place for everyone to
enjoy.
