THE SHOW:
Nostalgia is a bittersweet
longing for things, persons, or situations of the past. Translated into dance,
Momentum Dance Toronto’s (MDT) versatile dancers and choreographers took this
season to explore all of the things we hold so dear to us – relationships,
childhood memories, family, music, hobbies and even hardships. Indeed, every
one of us has a past with stories to tell.
Along the way, MDT’s mixed program NOSTALGIA also touches on themes of:
belonging, child’s play, love, loss of a loved one, depression, unity, lust,
overcoming obstacles and good ol’ fashion fun. These ideas are physicalized
through a series of choreographies, emphasized by the telling of personal reflections.
These reflections can be as simple and as light as the joy and adventures of
swimming, to the more serious nature of heartbreak and pain.
MDT invites you to share in the journeys of our past and to experience physical recreations on stage that examine the way we have been affected by our nostalgia.

CCYC Annual Spring Concert, June 15th (7:30pm)
Hello opera enthusiasts and lovers of the Cabbagetown Classical Youth Choir.
We are so very pleased to be announcing today our 2013 Annual Spring Concert. The event will take place at the lovely Heliconian Hall, 35 Hazelton Ave, Toronto and will feature excerpts from the Da Ponte operas.
In addition to the exciting group of young singers that the CCYC has offer, this evening will be enhanced with a performance by renowned operatic bass Gary Relyea. Mr. Relyea and his wife Anna will also be assisting the singers in the capacity of artistic advisors.
Please be sure the mark the date and join us for what is sure to be the most thrilling of spring concerts to date, as our Maestro, Daniel Eby has them sounding better than ever.
Tickets are $50 at the door, though RSVP’s are appreciated. Complimentary Hors D’oevres will be served along with tea, coffee. A cash bar will also be available.
We will also be encouraging donations, as the Cabbagetown Classical Youth Choir is a non-profit organization that survives through the generous support of its donors. Through our long-standing relationship with St. Peter’s Anglican Church we are now able to offer donors tax receipts for their contributions.
Please call 647-701-5033 for more information or to make a reservation.
Hope to see you there!
