F'Amelia Moves on Up and Gives Back, 12 Amelia St.
· Chef: James Harrison
· Sous Chef: Jon Vettraino
· Cuisine: Italian
· Cost of dinner for two: $80
Movin’ on up. F’Amelia’s chef decamped and the sous moved up. And up! Warm house-made focaccia with rosemary and reggiano sets the tone — which continues with gnocchi like clouds made complex with porcini and pancetta, and fab farfalle with garlicky house-made lamb sausage, wilted spinach, roasted parsnips and shaved pecorino. Spring announces itself with crazy juicy scallops with translucent pink coins of pickled radish for bite, oranges for sweet, fennel pure and braised endive for depth. From the Neapolitan pizza oven issue fab crispy crusts with impeccable toppings. Even the service has taken a turn for the better, becoming increasingly assured and attentive.
Enjoy Mother's Day at F'Amelia with the restaurant opening at noon May 12th.
Give Back! Pay your bill with cash or debit F'Amelia will donate 1% of your entire bill + tip to the Cabbagetown Youth Centre.
